Good evening!

We wanted to share an important update with you.  As of August 26th, eDiets will no longer be supporting the Atkins Nutritional Approach, and your plan will be transitioned to the Glycemic Impact Diet.

Members on the Atkins meal plan are receiving this same messaging in their Diet area, but we also wanted to post here about the update to make sure you have the information and also to let you know that we are going to continue this board so that you can remain connected with one another.  Since we will no longer be supporting the Atkins Nutritional Approach, though, we will be moving this board from the "Meal Plan Specific" category to the "Lifestyle" category after 8/26/09.  Your Favorites link should still work to get you directly to this board when that change is made.

Please review the important letter below from Pamela Ofstein, eDiets Director of Nutrition Services for more information.

Dear Members,

Hi, I'm Pamela Ofstein, Director of Nutrition for eDiets.com. My team and I regularly evaluate our meal plans to ensure you have the best tools to lose weight in a healthy, sustainable way. After careful review, we will no longer be supporting a low carb plan, but we will continue to support a healthy carb alternative meal plan.

To that end, eDiets will no longer offer or support the Atkins Nutritional Approach program as of Aug. 26, 2009. We will be transitioning our Atkins members to the Glycemic Impact (GI) Diet, one of our most popular meal plans for sustained weight loss and successful maintenance.

The GI Diet plan balances unrefined complex carbohydrates with lean protein and healthy fat to help stabilize blood sugars and increase energy while losing weight. You will enjoy foods that taste great while increasing your fiber intake, keeping you satisfied throughout the day. The Glycemic Impact Plan provides 40% of calories from mostly low Glycemic Impact carbohydrates providing you a healthy lower carb plan; 30% of calories come from lean protein; and approximately 30% of remaining calories are from healthy fats - for overall balanced nutrition.

For convenience, your plan will switch automatically on August 26, 2009. When you log in, you'll notice a change to your meal plan. If you have any questions or concerns, do not hesitate to contact your Nutrition Support staff. If you have questions on what plan is the right fit for you, we can help you choose a plan that will best fit your lifestyle. We'll be there to guide you through the transition every step of the way!

We've set up a special phone number (866-727-0472) just for you to call us with your questions or concerns, or you can email us at .GI@ediets.com

Thank you for putting your trust in eDiets.com to help you reach your goals! Warm regards,

Pamela Ofstein MS, RD, LD/N Director of Nutrition Services

Our Nutrition Support Team will continue to be checking this board through the transition and is available for questions.  You can use the phone number and email address posted above if you need assistance.

We truly hope that you'll remain a part of eDiets and continue to support one another on your weight loss/get healthy journeys.  We are here to support you as well and wish you much success and good health!

All the very best,
