TV 24, House, Dexter, ER, Criminal Minds, Numbers, shows on Discovery Health. This summer: So You Think You Can Dance is my fav.
Books Way behind on reading but like Stephen King, Robin Cook, Mary Higgins Clark, James Patterson. Haven't read a book in months. This is a goal for 09 as well as to keep up with my magazines. Guess I wasn't ready....I am now

Thursday, June 18, 2009, 10:54 PM MST [General]

I did not meet my goals thus far this year.  I got disgusted with myself after taking a break after the BAF challenge and that combined with losing 9 hrs a week of exercise/physical activity when I decided to quit coaching gymnastics where I had volunteered the last 9 or 10 yrs due to their lack of respect towards me and deciding to change who could be on rec team resulted in a 6 lb gain in a week.  This is being conservative because my doc said I was 2L behind on fluid on Tues and needed to drink on 4 pounds, meaning I possibly gained 10. I had end of day heavies that were a 10 pound gain too!  I didn't even totally go crazy but I disregarded portion size and ate dessert a few times a week.

Soooo, I have to do it this time and my biggest challenge is HUNGER and having my body hold up to do the exercise portion. Would be nice to get beyond the 10-20 min of aerobic exercise and be an intermediate level. I generally can do more toning as these are short bursts.

    am I ready?

Tuesday, March 31, 2009, 12:32 PM MST [General]

I think yes.  I took a break from the diet and did gain weight back, but not much.  My highest am weight since Oct was 158 yesterday, but then I dropped some fluid weight later in the am.  I start the new push to my goal of 150 with the building a Foundation Challenge. I got the clearance to work out from my doc and brought a letter to Bally to extend my membership another 6 mo as I have not been well enough to go in.  This is a fresh start fitness-wise, and I feel like I just lost a a year.  I was told to not "push it" so I do not end up back in bed and then see a setback or give up.  I have been doing a little bit of conditioning exercises with the kids I coach and today starts a fresh cycle of strength and conditioning for them and I want to be involved, yet still be able to make it to 8pm!

I have been doing meals by memory as I have been with eDiets so long and realized I need to pick my menu for the week and print it out and be disciplined and see what happens.  I need to measure and weigh things again vs the eyeball method (though I maintained around 155 doing this since November). My doc thought the calories were too low at 1400-1500 and I have been adding about 200 a day as I have been hungry to the point of not feeling well. I did it a year ago when I started at 172, so lets see if I can do it again.

I start this quest at 156. With exercise it may be easier this time.  I just want to see 150 again and if I am having good success, I may try for 145.

    The things kids will do

Sunday, September 14, 2008, 01:18 PM MST [General]

Friday night at the gym, we almost lost Mariah to another gym because the older girls (namely one of them) decided to take her penguin erasers. These little things are about a 1/2 in tall and her mom got them in Japan. On Thurs, I noticed my oldest was being overly nice to her. They should be nice to each other, they are a team...My youngest came up and told me something was going on and mentioned the "erasers."

Friday, we had a team meeting upstairs to discuss it and some other comments some of them were making to each other and some other kids, and I got tears and I got one eraser back and I am getting the other one Tues. I also got an entire different story about these from Samantha who had one given to her, so I have no idea of they were actually being held hostage or not! Mariah's mother was impressed, she did not think anyone would fess up to this...I am so close to these girls they mess up and call me mom sometimes.

Well, at  least Mariah will be back on Tues and my team is intact.

Resting as much as I can

Tuesday, August 26, 2008, 02:00 PM MST [General]

I have been in a pain flare since last week so I am doing as little as possible.  Stretching in bed before getting up didn't even help.  The pain is making me very tired so I am playing by ear this week as far as exercise goes. I have 4 coaching days but Wed is critiquing girls at another gym and offering suggestions to improve their scores as I am one of two gymnastics judges in Tucson (and I don't think Andi is here for the winter yet frm back east).  I'd almost like to coach at this gym--only took me 15-20 min to drive there vs 30-40 to go to Gymnastics World, where I have been for a little over 8 years volunteering my time.  Need a fresh crop of kids who are going to show me a little more respect and If I don't have that in March, I will move to one of the other gyms in town and offer my services. I have to move my four level 5s to regular team then as they will have had an introduction to this level and be ready to leave me!!  Still have my critiques to write up from our intersquad Friday and it is 1pm, I leave at 2:30 unless I go to see my sister tomorrow!  Hot bath for my aching body is next. Fri when I went to the chiropractor it hurt for him to even touch me...so this is getting old and I hurt my foot on top of it last week and I don't even know how! So it is to my doc on Thurs.
